P3/H13 Particle filter
This type of filter removes solid particles and aerosols. Dust filters can be differentiated into classes:
G3/P1 Coarse dust pre-filter
F7/P2 Hazardous fine dust filter
H13/P3 Toxic particle filter
The filter pressurization system is standard fitted with a P1 filter that can be used for daily use other than decontamination. Keep this P1 filter for this usage only and choose a filter combination package in case of a decontamination. A package will always include a P1 filter.
P2 filters are often used to filter microscopic dust particles.
P3 filters are suitable to filter asbestos or quartz particles. All our P3 filters have been extensively tested according EN 1822 in an external laboratory. Therefore we ensure an optimal filtering only if the MBAir filter pressurization system is used in combination with the original filters.
Activated carbon filter
Activated carbon is an adsorbent and is the general term for substances, whose internal surface is increased in the so-called activation process. Activated carbon can have strongly varying chemical and physical compositions and can therefore also have different adsorbing characteristics.
Activated carbon is a highly porous form of carbon. Due to the high number of pores, activated carbon has an unimaginably large internal surface.
The activated carbon particles (carbon atoms) attract gaseous or liquid particles (molecules) that are surrounding or flowing through the activated carbon.
If the activated carbon is impregnated it is able to neutralize toxins. The BMAir systems should be equipped with original filters containing either standard A carbon or the impregnated ABE, K, Hg and ABEK (according EN14387) carbon types.
Due to the fact that activated carbon is available in many types and different qualities, no imitation filters should be applied, since these carbon filters often do not provide high-quality activated carbon. A filter pressurization system is actually a personal protective equipment (PPE) and should be treated as such.
A variety of combined filters relieve you during the maintenance and use of your filter pressurization system. Due to communication through the filter recognition there is no need to open the filter pressurization system and take out the polluted filter to see what filter is present: the operator or safety expert can easily see on the display what type of filter is placed and how many hours it is still safe to operate with it.
As soon as the programmed time has elapsed, on the display the corresponding LED will start changing colour and you can read out the filter's article number: this ensures that replacement filters can be easily ordered in time, avoiding unnecessary downtime. The registration of the number of hours that the filter has been placed, maximises its capacity and the filter can be used on several occasions and for specific tasks.
On request we can specifically set the filter hours, the air flow, the composition of the combined filter and calculate the highest possible return of filtered air for the customer.
Always consult an expert for the application of the correct filter(s)!
The nature and concentration of contamination determine what type of filter is suitable. BMAir offers a wide range of
filters and filter combinations. The filter types and -compositions for filter pressurization systems are of the same high quality and material as respiratory protection the filters. Please consult an expert regarding the appropriate filter type(s) for the specific decontamination you are dealing with. Important: Do only use the original filters!
